The D&D vs Rick and Morty Game is Just as Wild as You'd Expect

This has been a busy fall for Wizards of the Coast's D&D team. Having just released a new campaign in September's Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus and preparing to publish another alongside a new setting expansion in Eberron: Rising From the Last War, the team is also getting ready to launch an adventure and starter set based on the hit TV show (and crossover comic series)  Dungeons & Dragons vs Rick and Morty.

Death Stranding Review

After the past three years of cryptic and confusing teaser trailers, the question on everyone's lips has been, "What exactly is Death Stranding?" Well, now we know, and the answer is… complicated. The first game from famed designer Hideo Kojima since his dramatic departure from publisher Konami and his long-running Metal Gear franchise is a boldly inventive slab of sci-fi, fastidiously crafted to host to some of the most breathtaking sights I've ever witnessed in any medium – video game or otherwise. It's also a cross-country crawl that frequently finds itself mired in an exhausting amount of inventory management, backtracking, one-note mission design, and unprecedentedly arduous travel. It's evident that Kojima and his team at Kojima Productions have worked extremely hard to build Death Stranding, but it's also painfully clear that they expect us to match their determination in order to fully enjoy it.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Final Review

For the first time in a few years, it seems like Call of Duty has stopped peeking at other shooters' homework for inspiration. It's not to say it hasn't been successful with taking on trending modes and mechanics, like when Treyarch's Black Ops 4 ditched the campaign and introduced an amazing battle royale mode. This year, though, Infinity Ward pulls from its own history for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. And as a result, it's delivered excellent gunplay to pair with an intense and effective campaign and a fantastic weapon customization system in multiplayer. Something it didn't learn, though, is that even a great arsenal can't make up for poor map design, especially when there's such a limited selection available at launch. Missteps in multiplayer and Spec Ops are like suppression fire that keep Modern Warfare from taking the high ground of its classic namesake, but everything else suggests that the series is now heading in a promising direction.

The Witcher Reading Guide: How to Prepare for Netflix's Series

With production on Netflix's The Witcher now wrapped, it's only a matter of time before this wild world of wonder and weirdness hits the small screen. However, executive producer and showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich's adaptation of this beloved fantasy world isn't tied to the massively successful Witcher game franchise developed by CD Projekt Red and which established its significance in the zeitgeist. Instead, the Netflix show is based on the books by author Andrzej Sapkowski.

Sapkowski has published eight Witcher books since he started writing the series back in the mid-'80s when the illustrious Polish author first submitted Wiedzmín — "The Witcher" — to fantasy magazine Fantastyka.
