Take-Two Interactive revealed Grand Theft Auto V has sold 65 million copies since launch.
That number represents an increase of 5 million copies since the company revealed it had moved 60 million copies of Grand Theft Auto V in its last financial call with investors. That means in this quarter alone, Grand Theft Auto V averaged sales of 1.67 million per month.
The figure is staggering, but its continued success is arguably made more impressive given the original game released in 2013 on last-gen consoles.
In August 2015, Take-Two revealed lifetime sales for the GTA franchise topped 220 million. The sales numbers for GTA V have increased an additional 11 million since then, putting lifetime sales of GTA as a franchise over 230 million copies, if you only count sales of the most recent game.
