Released today, Sony is already selling its PlayStation VR unit at a profit, according to Sony Interactive Entertainment President Shawn Layden.
"We're making money on the VR console," Layden told Polygon, though he didn't elaborate much further. Similarly, the PlayStation 4 was profitable for Sony less than a year after its release in 2013.
PSVR is on track to be a success for the company and is already estimated to sell more than 2 million units by the end of 2016. Amazon announced yesterday it would have limited amounts of the launch bundle and core headset available at launch of people who didn't pre-order.
