Nintendo Temporarily Discontinues Famicom Classic Mini

Nintendo is halting production of Famicom Classic Mini, but intends to resume manufacturing at some point in the future.

As reported by Famitsu (translation courtesy of Kotaku) the official Japanese Nintendo website says, "Production of this product is ending temporarily. When manufacturing resumes, we will provide information at another time on this homepage."

Famicom Classic Mini released in Japan last year to incredible success. This miniature console, which comes with 30 games built in, is the Japanese equivalent of NES Classic Edition—production for which Nintendo announced just yesterday will be discontinued in North America.
