The Nintendo Switch's latest 4.0.0 update came with surprise functionality not listed in Nintendo's official notes — the ability to use wireless headphones.
As originally spotted by NintendoLife, wireless headphones using a USB dongle are now natively supported by the Switch, meaning users no longer have to be tethered to the system. The Switch's dock has standard USB ports to attach a dongle to, but for use in handheld mode, Switch owners will need a USB-to-USB-C adapter for wireless headphone support.
For Switch owners looking for a new pair of headphones, IGN took a look earlier this year at the best gaming headsets available. The Switch still does not natively support Bluetooth headphones, however.
