EA Takes Star Wars Battlefront II Microtransactions Offline

As Star Wars Battlefront II launches, the ability to purchase crystals, the sequel's in-game currency, for microtransactions like Crates, is currently unavailable for players.

Hours ahead of the game's launch in North America, IGN has confirmed that crystals cannot be purchased as of press time on both the PSN and on PC. Crystals can still be purchased on Xbox One. Crystals are used to purchase crates, which include Star Cards, emotes, and other resources.

Battlefront II's devs have been continually addressing the negative feedback fans have had to the game's progression and loot crate system, including in a recent AMA ahead of its launch. During that Q-and-A session, the developers vowed to fix the progression system based on fan response.
