Stardock Entertainment is adding politics and government to Galactic Civilizations 3 with a new expansion named Intrigue.
This new Galactic Civilizations 3 expansion will let players pick out various forms of government — like a democracy, oligarchy and monarchy — and then choose cabinet members accordingly. Stardock says each one has positives and negatives, with the choice of technology and cultural ideology affecting which types of government are even available.
As a player's empire expands in the strategy game, Intrigue will see outskirt worlds wishing for independence. Commonwealth status is apparently key in these situations. According to Stardock, this designation will keep them happy and turn them into an ally without much oversight.
