The most recent Hearthstone expansion, Kobolds & Catacombs, has been in the wild for a while now, and the power level of the meta has never felt this high, with a deck needing incredibly powerful tools and strategies to be viable. At the same time, however, there's no one deck dominating the game, and several classes have a number of archetypes they can play. So, just how healthy is Hearthstone right now? And what was the thinking behind the design of some of strongest cards and combos from the last set? I caught up with senior designers Peter Whalen and Mike Donais to find out.
IGN: The power level in Hearthstone right now is pretty crazy. Is that solely because it's the largest pool of cards in the game to date or is it also a reflection of conscious design decisions you guys have made?
