Epic's Fortnite just ascended to a new level of popularity. For a limited time, players of the game's Battle Royale mode will have the opportunity to play as Thanos from Avengers: Infinity War, complete with his mighty Infinity Gauntlet and all six of the powerful Infinity Stones. The fact that this crossover is happening in the first place does more than show the power of Fortnite. Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo openly admit to being massive fans of the online shooter, citing it as the game they would play during breaks from editing the film before they up and called Epic's creative director Donald Mustard to make this a reality. And in doing so, the brothers may have begun an interesting future between Marvel Studios and Epic. Currently, the brothers have a lot of clout thanks to their work on the Captain America sequels and the two Infinity War films. Since they're the ones who managed to get Thanos in the game in the first place, and depending on how the Thanos event shakes out, it wouldn't entirely be surprising if Epic were allowed for similar crossovers with other upcoming films in the MCU.
