Resident Evil 2's campaigns will be simplified in the remake to avoid a "sense of repetition."
The original Resident Evil 2's campaign is getting pared down for the remake to make it more appealing for "players today," says producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi.
Hirabayashi touched on how the original's four different scenarios (Leon A/Claire B and Claire A/Leon B) have been reduced down to two campaigns in an interview with Rely on Horror.
"One of the great things about the original was this sort of two character system where you could get a different perspective on events. Either as Leon the rookie cop, or Claire as a student—the 'zapping' system as it was known where there was A parts and B parts to each character.
