The next generation of Xbox has been announced. Currently called Project Scarlett, it will be released in Holiday 2020.
A video explained that the console will be 4 times more powerful than the Xbox One X, able to output up to 8K, 120 frames per second and ray tracing. The priority is apparently to reduce load times in games.
A new generation SSD is being used as virtual RAMm offering "40 times performance increases" over previous generations.
"For us, the console is vital
to our experience," said Phil Spencer on stage, doubling down on Microsoft's recent games-first philosophy with Xbox.
Originally rumoured under the same codename Scarlett, Microsoft has been teasing the console's reveal using hidden RGB codes.
