Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers Review in Progress

Update 7/8/19: I'm now 90 hours into Shadowbringers and the end is in sight. Only a couple of dungeons and trials remain before I complete the main quest line, and I'm hardly ready to say goodbye. The story was already brilliant during my initial review-in-progress (which you can catch up on below), and it's only upped the ante since. Since then, several moments made my eyes well up and my chest clench. It's been quite a journey, to say the very least. There's no doubt in my mind now that Shadowbringers is Final Fantasy XIV's best expansion to date.

But before I reach Shadowbringers' curtain call, I decided it was a good time to check out one of the expansion's new jobs. DPS has never been my thing. Give me a sword, and I'll inquire how it might be fashioned into a healing rod. That is, until, I danced with the devil under the pale moonlight. The Dancer is new ranged DPS job with a kick in their step and an emphasis on support, and it's a bridge between those two roles for a medic like me.
