Today, a mysterious Hotline Miami video got some fans excited about the possibility of a new game in the series but that rumour has now been quashed.
A Twitter account named Jacketisnotdead - a reference to the protagonist from the first game - posted a short video that featured the pastel colours, synth vibes and horrific violence you'd expect from the games, ending with the words "Full Trailer Coming Soon":
