Niantic has announced that new Pokemon from Pokemon Gold and Silver are coming to Pokemon Go.
Starting today, trainers will be able to find Togepi and Pichu in eggs, as well as "select other" Pokemon from Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver. As always, trainers can acquire eggs by visiting PokeStops and spinning the image that appears.
In addition, from today through December 29, players will be able to encounter a special edition Pikachu wearing a "festive hat" in the wild, and Niantic promises the special Piachu "will appear in large quantities during this period."
In a statement, The Pokemon Company International's JC Smith teased that "the opportunity to hatch select Pokémon originally discovered in the Johto region is just the beginning of how more Pokémon will be added to the game for Trainers to continue their Pokemon Go adventures."
