Capcom to Prioritize 'Completeness' Even if It Means Delays

Capcom has restructured its development periods "for a small number of titles," the developer announced during its annual financial earnings call.

To ensure games are up to standard, Capcom will carry out development in a way that "prioritizes completeness" over firm "development deadlines." For example, many—including Capcom—believe "some aspects of Street Fighter 5" could have used "more polish" at launch.

Street Fighter 5 was plagued with server and matchmaking issues, and was generally missing a lot of content.

"Accordingly, we feel it's better to give a little more time to development than before, and have made slight adjustments to our portfolio," Capcom CEO Kenzo Tsujimoto said.
