Electronic Arts and DICE's popular first-person shooter franchise Battlefield is making its way to TV by way of Paramount Television.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Paramount TV has acquired the rights from Electronic Arts and is partnering with Anonymous Content to make a television show based on the Battlefield series.
No network is yet attached to the project, but the deal extends to cable, premium cable, broadcast and streaming. Anonymous Content's Michael Sugar and Ashley Zalta are on board as executive producers.
"Battlefield has a tremendous built-in, engaged fan base, making it a highly coveted piece of IP primed for long-form adaptation," Sugar said. "Together with EA and Paramount TV, we'll develop the Battlefield TV series with the same commitment to robust storytelling that has made the game such a runaway success for nearly 15 years."
