Battlefield 1 Rent-a-Server Not Available at Launch

Battlefield 1's rent-a-server won't be available at launch, but will come "close after launch," says EA.

According to a Battlefield blog post, the reason for the slight delay is down to EA providing the servers instead of third-parties. With EA at the reigns, this allows the company to "secure the quality of the actual hardware" and "same uniform experience." It also means should issues arise, players can contact EA Support directly for help.

Battlefield's rent-a-server program lets players customise what they play, including map rotations, game modes, as well as gameplay tweaks. That said, some game modes will be restricted at launch and released "based on feedback and other circumstances."
