The four-year long investigation into Kingdoms of Amalur developer 38 Studios has resulted in no criminal charges being made against the company, which has been defunct since 2012.
"The quantity and quality of the evidence of any criminal activity fell short of what would be necessary to prove any allegation beyond a reasonable doubt and as such the Rules of Professional Conduct precluded even offering a criminal charge for grand jury consideration," states the official press release.
The Rhode Island Police Department stated that while there isn't sufficient evidence to press criminal charges, their findings should not be factored into any pending civil litigation, stating, "Results from the criminal investigation should not be imparted on the civil case in any aspect."
