After extending the Halo Wars 2 beta to June 22, Microsoft has released a handful of stats, noting the response they received "exceeded expectations."
In a press release, the company revealed that over 1 million matches of the RTS sequel were played, racking up over 1.2 million hours of overall game time. All of the feedback received and data pulled from the beta will "play a crucial role" in Creative Assembly's development of Halo Wars 2.
While originally set for release later this year, Microsoft announced during its E3 2016 press conference that Halo Wars 2 will instead launch for Xbox One and Windows 10 on February 21, 2017. As part of Microsoft's new Xbox Play Anywhere initiative, those who purchase the game digitally will be able to play it across both Xbox One and PC.
