At E3 2016 Nintendo showed off 1% of the vast world in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild but, back at an investor meeting in July 2014, Shigeru Miyamoto said he preferred not to call it an "open world" during development. IGN caught up with Nintendo's lauded game designer and asked if could clarify his statement.
"I think within the game industry or the tech industry, there's a tendency to want to name everything," Miyamoto told IGN. "But I think it's important for what we do that we don't want to be dependent or swayed by the technology and what's available now."
